Chapter 1
November is National Gratitude Month. It is a time to reflect on what we are grateful for; a time to celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings.
Throughout the month, we will be posting Blogs that feature the thoughts on gratitude from residents of the senior living, assisted living, supportive living, and memory care communities Gardant operates.
In today’s Blog, we highlight residents of John Evans Supportive Living. Located in the central Illinois town of Pekin, the community is designed to serve individuals 65 years of age and older of all incomes who need some assistance to maintain their independence.
What I Am Grateful for..
Barbara H.: I am grateful for being here. It is so clean; great meals and great staff!
Vera P.: I am grateful for God, family, friends, and all loved ones. Too many to name.
Lynette F.: For all the good friends I can share with, and all that Beth (the community’s Resident Services Coordinator) provides for us here. The care and convenience of this assisted living, the activities & events to attend and the daily meals too!
Donna B.: My new John Evans family; the staff is all so nice.
Lucy T.: I am grateful for coming here to live. I have not fallen; not even once. That’s a record for me. Everyone is very helpful and kind.
The community was developed and is owned the Laborers Home Development Corp., a not-for-profit affordable housing developer associated with the Midwest Region of the Laborers International Union. Gardant has managed the community since it opened 15 years ago in November 2007.
The focus is on providing residents with the Love, Compassion, and Dignity they deserve in addition to the personal assistance, help with medications, and the support services such as three daily meals, housekeeping and laundry residents need. The goal is to help each resident achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.
