Gardant Assisted Living Residents Express Gratitude

By Rick Banas of Gardant Management Solutions

Chapter 4

November is National Gratitude Month. It is a time to reflect on what we are grateful for; a time to celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings.

Throughout the month, we are posting Blogs that feature the thoughts on gratitude from residents of the senior living, assisted living, supportive living, and memory care communities Gardant operates.

In today’s Blog, we feature expressions of gratitude from residents of The Montclare at Lawndale in Chicago and of Cedar Grove in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

The Montclare at Lawndale

The Montclare is one of four affordable assisted living communities that Gardant manages in the inner city of Chicago.

The communities operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and are designed to serve adults 65 and older who need some assistance to maintain their independence, including individuals who are on or would qualify for Medicaid.

The Montclare features 120 private studio and one-bedroom apartment. Each apartment has a kitchenette; bathroom with shower and grab bars; individually controlled heating and air conditioning; and emergency alert system.

Staff is on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Personal assistance, help with medications, three meals a day plus snacks, housekeeping, laundry, heating and air conditioning are included.

Residents also benefit from opportunities to socialize with family, friends, and neighbors and participate in social, recreational, educational, and wellness activities.

We share with you comments about gratitude from five residents of The Montclare:

Cecil T.

I’m grateful for the programs that are available to us; it brings so much joy to our community and makes us feel like a family.

Margie M.

I’m grateful to be a volunteer in the Community Store. I feel like I’m a big help to the residents when they come into the store.

Ramona M.

I’m grateful for shelter, food, and my relationship with Jesus Christ.

Debra W.

I’m grateful for living here next door to me sister.

Barbara G.

I’m grateful to be able to still get around.

Gardant has managed the community since it opened in June 2017.
