Finally, Roman says, he has found a place that feels like home.
His family can enjoy all that Heritage Woods has to offer with him, and he is surrounded by love from other residents and our staff.
“I would fully recommend this supportive living community to anyone,” Roman said. “I feel loved here. I have found friends and an extended family here in my new home.”
Anne’s Story: A Carefree Lifestyle Means More Time to Help Others
Anne’s life began in the Netherlands, amid wooden shoes and tulips.
It was there that she learned about art.
As someone who is giving in so many ways, Anne loves to share her talent for painting with others.
Anne is always active, kind and affable. She enjoys playing cards and socializing with other residents. No matter what, she is always encouraging. At the same time, Anne can be pensive as well as she is often seen hovering over the community’s “puzzle table” where puzzles are always “in progress” being assembled piece-by-piece.
Anne is also generous with her time and her ear. She is completely selfless and wants to help people at our community find greater joy and peace in their lives. The word that describes her amid all the others is – compassionate.
Our community allows Anne to live a carefree lifestyle that gives her more time to focus on her mission of helping others – and there is no one whose issues are too great to be embraced by Anne.
Carl’s Story: Regaining His Independence and Finding Home
Carl found his way to our community at a time when difficulties were mounting in his life.
At first, he wasn’t sure what moving to Heritage Woods of Bolingbrook would mean. After only a few weeks, he realized the this move was the best for many reasons. Carl knew he had found a home with people who care for him and assist him with his needs.
Our community is giving Carl a chance to experience things he never thought he would.
One day, a woman extended her hand and asked him to dance.
Who would have thought?
But nervously, he went out on the floor and danced in front of everyone.
It was the first step toward the next chapter in Carl’s life.
Heritage Woods has helped him regain his dignity.
“I’m glad I’m here,” Carl told us. “I have a place to call home. I have people who care about me. What more could I need?”
