In this issue of the Heritage Herald, we look back on a July filled with fun and color, and ahead to an August of exciting new activities and prospects! Remember to wear your mask, wash your hands often, and take in the beauty around you. Life may be different, but it’s still good!
On June 5th, Heritage Woods made the happy announcement that we were beginning the process of reclaiming our home after three long months of quarantine. Since that day, we have celebrated by restarting small group activities, extending outdoor patio time and very recently, offering visits with family and friends outside our front doors. Just as we as a nation are growing and adapting to our new world, this issue of the Bolingbrook Times illustrates how the flowers in the community’s garden are blooming and bright… even in new soil. As we continue to learn more about the COVID-19 outbreak and how quickly it can spread, we have taken a number of precautions to keep residents safe. We have been and continue to be highly proactive in taking steps to help ensure the health and welfare of all residents and limiting possible exposure to COVID-19 or other viruses. Even with our best efforts, as we are all learning, this virus spreads quickly and is easily transmitted.

As we learn more about COVID-19 and the impact it has on older adults, we are taking a proactive approach to keeping our community safe. New precautions include self-isolation for residents, canceling all activities and group dining and restrictions on visitors and any residents who leave our building.
