Paul's Story
Transitions can be hard. Over the last year my mom’s memory has been failing and it became clear that she would really benefit from just having some extra support. It’s been a really difficult decision to figure out how to best care for her and honor her. She wasn’t interested in moving from her home that she has lived for the last 25+ years. But it became time to make the move to a Senior Living Facility.
I have three brothers and three sisters and we were all in agreement that the time was right. So last weekend we moved my mom into Bardwell Residences in Aurora where my younger brother and I are partners. No matter how much you think you know, it all becomes a little different when you are dealing with your own mom.
The transition has gone very well. I love my mom and have seen her strength and kindness even in times of her feeling a little uncomfortable. To be honest, it has also given me a better understanding of how important it is to have kind and good people working in senior living facilities. I have been beyond impressed with our caregivers from top to bottom at Bardwell.
I am thankful to everyone there who has been so kind and helpful to my mom. She is so special to me and my family and your care means more than you will ever know.
Ellie’s Story
My brother and I toured the facility today in search of a new home for our parents. Mom needs memory care and dad needs independent living and can no longer live in the home they shared for most of their marriage. While their individual needs are vastly different they wanted to live out their remaining years near each other. Your facility offers everything they need, and more, at an affordable price. We are in discussions with our family and hope to make this their new home very soon. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking a dilapidated old building and making it beautiful and useful again.
