New Community Precautions Amid COVID-19 Concerns

To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone at our community, we are taking additional measures, including limiting social visits, canceling large group gatherings and resident outings, and remaining vigilant about avoiding the spread of germs. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and provide updates as new information becomes available.

In our ongoing efforts to be proactive during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) spread throughout the United States, we are doing everything we can to keep the residents at our community safe.

As of today, we do not have any confirmed cases in our building.

To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of residents, family members and employees at our community, we are taking additional measures.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) have recommended a variety of steps that we have implemented to help minimize the potential for the virus to enter our building.

Here are some of the preventative measures we are taking:

Visitor Limitations
Effective immediately, we are temporarily curtailing social visits unless there are special circumstances. Visits for the purpose of responding to the immediate healthcare needs of a resident will be allowed on a case-by-case basis.

We are posting signs on our entryway doors to notify visitors of this policy and actively screening individuals, including staff, who need to come into our building. Individuals authorized to enter will need to be free of respiratory symptoms, such as fever, sore throat, cough and new shortness of breath; not have a history within the last 14 days of travel to areas, including here in the United States, where a COVID-19 outbreak has been confirmed; and not have worked in another healthcare setting with a confirmed coronavirus exposure. Anyone entering the building will need to wash their hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizing gel and frequently wash their hands while in the building.

We understand that connecting with loved ones is incredibly important, and there are a variety of other ways you might consider communicating with them during this time. Caremerge, our family engagement app, is a great tool that our community uses to provide general and individualized updates regarding your loved one. Alternative communication methods include telephone, email, text message, video chat or social media. Our team has a variety of resources available and is prepared to assist in helping you connect with your family member in any way we can.

Internal Group Activities and Resident Outings
Until further notice, we will be cancelling all large group activities and group outings. This includes the restriction of volunteers and other groups visiting our community. Transportation to medical appointments will continue.

Emergency Contact Information
Make sure we have your most current emergency information on file. We want to be able to efficiently communicate any new developments with family members.

In addition to these precautions, we are also following the CDC recommendations for keeping our community as safe as we can for the residents who call our community home. Here is a link to an article we released last week with resources on COVID- 19 and tips to avoid spreading germs and how to properly wash your hands.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we continue monitoring the situation and working to keep everyone at our community as safe as we possibly can.
