Berkeley Oaks, the premiere memory care provider in Williamsburg, Virginia, has announced plans to change its name to White Oaks at Williamsburg.
“Our new name is a better reflection of the future direction of our community and our focus on person-centered care,” said Morgan Miller, the administrator at White Oaks at Williamsburg.
“The care provided at White Oaks will mirror the roots of a white oak tree,” Miller explained. “In the same way those roots nourish, give strength and life to the tree, our staff at White Oaks will make the life story of each resident come alive by deeply understanding the sacred chambers of their heart and honoring them in all we do each day.”
As the transition takes place, the community remains committed to providing quality care and treating residents with the love, compassion and dignity they deserve.
In addition to the name change, the community is changing its website to www.whiteoaks-williamsburg.com
White Oaks at Williamsburg features 48 studio apartments and provides opportunities for residents to maintain a sense of purpose and belonging throughout the seasons of dementia.
“We focus on abilities rather than limitations because we understand that as we age, our hearts, hopes and desires do not,” said Rod Burkett, CEO of Gardant Management Solutions, which manages the community.
Each of the private apartments at the community features a spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning units, and an emergency alert system.
White Oaks offers other community areas, including two dining rooms, a living room with fireplace, multi-purpose rooms and outdoor patio areas.
Wellness staff are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
White Oaks at Williamsburg is one of more than 60 properties operated by Gardant Management Solutions, including several other White Oaks memory care communities in Illinois and Indiana.
Gardant is the 10th largest provider in the nation.
