John Evans Supportive Living recently published a post on Facebook asking the public to adopt residents for Christmas!

Unbeknownst at the time that this post would reach over 11,000 people and the residents at John Evans will be having a wonderful Christmas thanks to the help of everyone!

Beth Squires, Resident Service Coordinator says, “We are truly blessed by the outpouring of love and support that our friends, families and community has shown us.”

She also goes on to say that this has been a tough year on our residents, and they deserve every bit of joy that is coming to them!

What started out as a simple post to ask for a few gifts for the residents outside of the facilities normal gift giving and gifts from families has turned into an amazing experience for everyone at John Evans! Even the staff is so happy to see how many people want to help. These are tough times for all of us, but especially our vulnerable elderly population that has had to isolate from family, friends and even the community just to keep them safe. We often hear the community complain about all the restrictions that are being done but they often forget why the restrictions are so important.

This is not a time to be thinking of just one’s self and the response to this simple post has shown us how many caring people there really are.

We just want to thank each and everyone of you who reached out to us to help make our seniors Christmas a wonderful experience in such an unsure time.
