So many of us have been touched by the losses that Alzheimerʹs disease and dementia bring.
Precious old memories fade. Precious new ones can’t be made.
It is heartbreaking for family, friends and the individual effected.
Recently, we have had the opportunity to further understand the struggles facing individuals with this disease.
Participating in a Dementia Live experience is truly life changing. It is a simulation of the sight, sound, tactile and informational struggles that many seniors with dementia face. It only lasted a few minutes, but it felt like forever.
Afterward, when asked to explain how we felt, words like: alone, frustrated, confused, scared, angry and even worthless were used.
Raising money for research by supporting the Alzheimer’s Walk is just one way we try to help.
On September 15th, our team was part of the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimerʹs. It rained right up to the beginning of the walk. Then, the rain decided to stop right as we started walking. It was a wonderful and meaningful event.
Thank you again to everyone who supported us in our fundraising efforts. Thank you to those who continue to raise awareness.
Let’s all do everything we can to end this disease because memories really do matter.
