For the month of October, we wanted to let other facilities in our area know we are supporting them in these unprecedented times. We loaded up the activity bus with gallons of apple cider and dozens of fresh baked donuts and headed out into the community. Administrator Peg Morgan and Marketer Debbie Pusateri hit multiple skilled nursing facilities in Ottawa and were received with many smiles and thank you’s from everyone. It was great to see staff from other facilities and let them know we are all bonded together in the fight against COVID-19.

Residents were delighted with a drive-by parade organized by family members. Heritage Woods experienced various tractors, hot rods, and vehicles decorated with signs of love and support as well as waving grandchildren and even a few pets! It was a touching experience for everyone involved.

Heritage Woods of Ottawa has also recently had five employees reach their 20-year work anniversary, which we think is pretty amazing! CNA Deb Brammel, Dietary Manager Chris Robinson, Cook Joan Martinez, Maintenance Manager Tracey McClellan, and Administrator Peg Morgan have all been with Heritage Woods of Ottawa for two decades now. Each one is an asset to their department and we feel very lucky to have such a great team of staff members at our community!
