Residents are excited for Project Reclaiming Our Home, which has begun at Heritage Woods of Ottawa! Many changes have been implemented and all the outcomes have been positive ones. Residents are enjoying a new communal dining experience, while maintaining safe social distancing in the spacious Heritage Woods of Ottawa dining room. Another new project that has started is small group activities. So far, residents have participated in small group trivia, exercise class, and bingo to name a few. They are happy to be able to see their neighbors again and also meet new neighbors that have moved into the building. Another feature that we are offering at Heritage Woods of Ottawa is the use of our work-out room by appointment only, Monday through Friday. The work-out room is sanitized and disinfected in between every resident use.
A wonderful addition to Project Reclaiming Our Home is offering outdoor visits for family members to come see their loved one! Heritage Woods of Ottawa’s backyard patio, located off of the back parking lot, is the perfect location for these visits to occur. Not only a beautiful country setting, but it is a safe and open area for residents to be able to sit under our 10 feet patio umbrellas and visit with their families. We have a staff member located in the gazebo, which is next to the patio, to provide assistance if needed but also provide privacy for families to visit with each other. We are also still offering window visits and virtual family visits or video chats as well.
In the future we look forward to the reopening of the beauty salon and manicures. We are reclaiming our home!
