Each year the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition hosts a state-wide photography contest and Heritage Woods of Ottawa is excited to announce that they were chosen this year for second place, out of hundreds of applicants! It should be added that last year HW of Ottawa took 3rd in the photography as well! The AALC involves supportive living program communities in activities throughout the year to provide meaningful connection to residents across the state.

For this years photography contest, the AALC asked that communities submit photos that encourage and inspire to show the resilience of each community. The photo that won second place was taken a couple months after the pandemic began and shows resident, Betty, looking down into the HW courtyard to see members of her family who are holding signs with messages of love wrote to her. This was a very challenging time for residents and staff, fortunately we are having in-person visits again and will continue to focus on a positive future!

Heritage Woods of Ottawa is a proud member of the community and are so happy to be involved in all the different aspects of the assisted living community as well!
