Autumn is definitely in the air at Heritage Woods of Ottawa! Residents have been enjoying weekly outings to Starved Rock and Buffalo Rock State Parks to see the changing colors of foliage in the trees. A newer activity that residents are enjoying is a monthly “Museum Club” where residents visit a different museum each month. Wednesday mornings residents have another opportunity to get out into the community with the shopping and errands outing. Residents love being shuttled around the city in our spacious and comfortable transport bus. Why drive when you can ride?

Recently Heritage Woods of Ottawa hosted a caramel apple give-away for family and friends to come and receive complimentary caramel apples and visit with residents outdoors. With unusually warmer autumn temperatures in our area, residents had a wonderful time passing out the apples. Also, residents were delighted to receive caramel apples themselves!

Lastly it should be mentioned that very recently our administrator, Peggy, attended the AHCA/NCAL award ceremony in Washington DC to accept the 2021 Bronze Achievement in Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three level process that evaluates long term care organizations capabilities against nationally recognized standards for excellence, making it one of the most comprehensive and cost-effective performance assessments available to providers. Heritage Woods of Ottawa is so proud to receive this honorable award and will continue to rise above the rest with the highest possible standards for assisted living in our community!
