Carol’s Story:
takes the cake
Virginia “Carol” was born on 9/21/39 in Hamilton, OH.

She started work at the Federal Bakery downtown Evansville as a cake decorator in 1957. She continued baking and decorating cakes for many years. She made all of her children’s wedding cakes. In addition to Federal Bakery, she also worked at Great Scot bakery and Buy-Low bakery. She met her husband Virgil when they worked at Great Scot bakery where he was a Baker. They married in 1967. They were married 34 years when he passed away in 2001. Together they had 4 daughters and a son. Their daughter Lori passed away in 2016 and son Richard passed away in 2005. They have eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two on the way in March and May of 2021. She has 2 brothers, one older and one younger, and 2 sisters, both younger.
