After a long cold winter, it was time to put some spring back into our step.
The perfect way to start our spring celebration was with our 7th Annual Heritage Woods of Gurnee Friends and Family Spring Brunch. This is always one of the biggest events of the year. Every year close to the start of spring, we welcome each resident of our community to invite five guests for a free brunch.
This year’s brunch was a fun-filled day with delicious food cooked right in our kitchen. All the classic brunch items were served: French toast, omelets, bacon, sausage, ham, fruits, bagels and muffins.
Our dietary aide, Val, goes all out crafting a large assortment of made from scratch spring-themed desserts. Our residents and guests always have a blast taste testing the treats.
Stephanie, our resident services coordinator, surprises everyone by dressing up as the Easter Bunny for photos.
Children who visited our community gathered around to receive their candy-filled eggs.
Later in the month, residents will work on decorating photo frames during one our crafting sessions. With all the special memories that were captured, the residents will have plenty of pictures to include in frames for themselves or their loved ones.
