September was such a fun and exciting month here in Dwight. We had so many fun activities and outings, and more is still to come!
One of our favorite outings was our Route 66 lunch and cruise. We started out in Wilmington with lunch at The Launching Pad. The Launching Pad is located right off of Route 66 and features the 28-foot tall space man. Everyone enjoyed terrific food and left with very full bellies!
We then continued our journey down Route 66 to Braidwood, Godley, Braceville and Gardner, driving through and taking in all of the scenery. We ended our trip in Dwight at Ambler’s Texaco Gas Station.
It is so amazing to have such an iconic road so close to home. So many of us never knew some of the things we learned when driving through these small towns on Route 66.
After leaving the gas station in Dwight, we decided that it was the perfect day for a quick trip to Dairy Queen. We enjoyed a delicious ice cream to top off a great day.
This is a trip that everyone will be talking about for years to come!
Check back next month to see what other fun activities, outings, and more that we have going on here in Dwight!
