US Congresswoman Lauren Underwood traveled to Sandwich, Illinois this summer to discuss the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act (OAA), which is under the jurisdiction of one of her committees. She was seeking feedback on the needs of older adults and how services could be enhanced while the act is in the renewal process.

Heritage Woods Administrator Alex Haughee used the opportunity to talk about the Illinois Supportive Living Program and how it aligns with the goals of the Older Americans Act by allowing people to age in their community, providing social interaction, meals, healthcare, cost effective programs to reduce long term care/hospital stays and more.

Heritage Woods is proud to offer the services that we do to all adults 65 and better regardless of income levels.
