This summer, Heritage Woods of Centralia invited a musical group to perform at our community for the first time.
This musical group is known as The Prairieland Pickers, and they have been playing music for over fifteen years. They have also played at the Illinois State Fair for five years in a row, and they pride themselves on playing music geared toward the older generation.
Their shows typically focus of folk songs, bluegrass and gospel music.
The residents of Heritage Woods were thrilled to enjoy this new group that played a variety of instruments, including the mountain dulcimer, banjo dulcimer, guitar, mandolin, harmonica and bass. The group also performs with a strompf fiddle that they took around the room with them, so that all residents could take turns playing it.
We enjoyed this interactive musical performance and look forward to having them perform again!
