Pauline Moore celebrated her 108th birthday at Heritage Woods of Centralia.

Pauline attributes her good health to simply following a lifestyle of healthy living.  Pauline’s family always joked with her.  She never took a nap because she was afraid she might miss out on something.  Pauline is very active and enjoys walking and being outside on good weather days.  One thing that is definitely unique about her is the fact that she has now lived through multiple pandemics.  Pauline was born in 1912 and lived through the 1918 influenza pandemic which was known as the most severe pandemic in recent history.  The 1918 influenza pandemic spread worldwide during 1918-1919.  In the United States, it was first identified in military personnel in the spring of 1918. It is estimated that about 500 million people or one-third of the world’s population became infected with this virus.  Pauline does not recall the 1918 influenza pandemic since she was very young.  She has also lived through the H1N1 outbreak that was declared as the first pandemic of the 21st century by the World Health Organization (WHO).  Now, Pauline has endured her third pandemic while turning 108 years old. Pauline has seen and experienced a lot during her lifetime.  Her journey and life has been quite remarkable, and through everything, she remains a positive and pleasant person.

Heritage Woods of Centralia feels honored to have Pauline as resident.
