Grand Prairie of Macomb helped beat the heat with a Root Beer Float Social last month.
The event was organized by Madison Palmer, who spearheaded the event as part of her internship. Madison interned with Grand Prairie as part of her undergraduate degree in health services management at Western Illinois University.
When talking about why she wanted to organize the social, Madison said it was important for her to plan a new event where Grand Prairie residents and community members could spent time together and enjoy a nice cold treat to beat the heat.
During the social, attendees could choose to have a root beer float, a cream soda float or an orange soda float. Cake was also served in honor of Madison’s internship coming to an end.
Miss Macomb Outstanding Teen Deena Castlebury also made an appearance during the social. She took time to talk with Grand Prairie residents, posed for photos and signed autographs.
Everyone had a wonderful time, and we are looking forward to throwing more events like this in the future.
