You know they say: time flies when you’re having fun!

It’s so hard to believe that Glasswater Creek of Lafayette is gearing up for the first birthday celebration and what better theme than “What A (ONE)derful year.” On Aug. 26, Glasswater Creek will officially turn 1! The community is planning a large celebration that the community is welcome to attend.

A delicious lunch and presentation from local and state representatives will take place. Sheila Klinker and Ron Campbell will share a few words as well as Community Reinvestment Foundation founder Dave Cooper.

Over the past year, more than 100 families have chosen Glasswater Creek to love and care for their loved one. It’s been a fun year to welcome the first residents to the community and watch it grow. Relationships, friendships and confidence among residents have flourished.

Residents have visited the pumpkin patch, made candy canes, volunteered for local food pantries, and made many memories at our community.

Glasswater Creek of Lafayette serves older adults (62+) with moderate to low income. During our anniversary celebration, resident Randall Huffman will share his story about how Glasswater Creek has changed his life.

The first birthday celebration is something you will not want to miss. To stay up-to-date on upcoming events, visit our Facebook page or check back here on our website events page.

As the community begins to gear up for National Assisted Living Week next month, several fun activities that are open to the community are being planned, so mark your calendars and keep your eyes open for fun.
