If the Queen can host garden parties at Buckingham Palace annually, then so can Evergreen Village at Bloomington.
More than one hundred residents and guests enjoyed fine platters of vegetable and fruit trays, sweet cookies and flavored lemonade as we gathered outdoors to enjoy the party.
Local musician Marty Barrow, accompanied by Bruce Payton on guitar, entertained our guests for the sun-filled afternoon. The local Hoosier Hills Model A Ford Club arrived in style with a variety of model cars.
Residents enjoyed touring the grounds where fresh-cut flowers donated by Kroger South Floral Department and Mary M’s Flower Shoppe filled our garden boxes. There were plenty of roses and daisies to hand out to each resident during the event, so they could make their own arrangements for their apartments to remind them of the spectacular day they had at Evergreen’s first Garden Party.
One thing is for certain. Everyone left our gardens feeling like royalty for the day!
