Remembering Unsung Heroes

Read the latest article from Bowman Estates to learn how we showed our appreciation for local heroes on 9/11.

Unsung Heroes – By Matt Snnokrak, Homewood Fire Department

“The hours are hard and so is the job,

But I’d give it all, so you won’t sob.

To save your house, your life, your children,

I’ll risk it all to enter the building.

Each day I leave my wife and child

To respond to the number you dialed,

But if I go and do not live,

Please remember all we give.”

As the 18th anniversary of 9/11 happened earlier this month, the trauma and memories of the tragedy still live in the minds of many.  For many, we take the time to think about the families impacted and about the first responders who risked it all to save those that they could.

However, in our daily lives, it can be easy to forget the local men and women who risk their lives constantly to protect those in need.

On 9/11, Bowman Estates felt honored to provide pizza for some of our local heroes at Danville fire departments. It was a small token of our appreciation for all that they do for our community.

Bowman Estates would like to remind you to thank your local first responders for everything they do — and not just on holidays. They risk so much to help those in need and expect nothing in return. Local first responders are truly unsung heroes.
