Gardant Residents, Staff Express Gratitude

By Rick Banas of Gardant Management Solutions

Chapter 8

November is National Gratitude Month. It is a time to reflect on what we are grateful for; a time to celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings.

Throughout the month, we are posting Blogs that feature the thoughts on gratitude from residents and staff of the senior living, assisted living, supportive living, and memory care communities Gardant operates.

In today’s Blog, we feature expressions of gratitude from residents and staff at Heritage Woods of Huntley and White Oaks at Huntley.

The communities are located adjacent to the Del Webb active adult community in Huntley, Illinois, nearly 50 miles northwest of downtown Chicago.

Heritage Woods is an assisted living community designed for older adults who need some help to maintain their independence. The focus is on providing residents with the Love, Compassion and Dignity they deserve in addition to the personal assistance, help with medications, and support service that they need.

Specifically designed for residents with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia, White Oaks features special architectural and interior design elements; specialized group and individual activity-based programming; and a dining program based on what research indicates works best for residents who are living with dementia. Staff is trained on how best to care for and communicate with residents.

The focus is on providing opportunities for residents to maintain a sense of purpose in all seasons of dementia.
