Wii Bowling Team Rolls Into Playoffs

The Silver Sliders bowling team at Cambridge House of Maryville is one of the 32 teams to qualify for the first round of the playoffs in the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition’s (AALC) 2011 Supportive Living Wii Bowling Tournament, it was announced today.The team took home the First Place Trophy in last year's competition.To qualify for the first playoff round in the 2011 Tournament, teams needed to be one of the top eight teams in their division following the completion of the seven-week regular season. In all, more than 60 teams of residents from Supportive Living communities located throughout the State of Illinois competed during the regular season.The Silver Sliders finished in first place in the Silver Strikes Division. Team members are Cambridge House of Maryville residents Alla Boyer, Chris Garden, Lynda Leggett, P.J. Weihl, Arline White and Rita Young. Resident Services Coordinator Rosa Stufflebean serves as coach.Boyer and Weihl both bowled 300 games during the regular season.The first round of the 2011 playoffs begins on Monday, April 4. The tournament will culminate during Supportive Living Week with the Final Four traveling to Springfield to compete in the semi-finals on Tuesday, April 26, and the finals on Wednesday, April 27.The Silver Sliders is one of the 20 teams from affordable assisted living communities managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the company that manages Cambridge House of Maryville, to qualify for the playoffs.
