Silver Sliders Finish Fourth in Wii Bowling Tourney

For the second year in a row, the Silver Sliders bowling team from the Cambridge House of Maryville qualified to compete in the Final Four of the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition’s (AALC) Supportive Living Wii Bowling Tournament.The 2011 tournament featured teams of residents from Supportive Living communities in Illinois. More than 60 teams entered the competition.The Silver Sliders travelled to the competition at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center in Springfield, Illinois, looking to repeat as champions. The team struck gold last year, bringing home the First Place trophy.This year, the team finished in fourth place behind teams from Glenhaven Gardens of Alton, Eden Supportive Living in Aurora, and Springfield Supportive Living. The members of the Silver Sliders are Cambridge House of Maryville residents Alla Boyer, Chris Garden, Lynda Leggett, P.J. Weihl, Arline White and Rita Young. Resident Services Coordinator Rosa Stufflebean serves as coach.The Silver Sliders was one of the 20 teams from affordable assisted living communities managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the company that manages Cambridge House of Maryville, to qualify for the 2011 playoffs.
