Silver Sliders Finish 4th in Statewide Wii Bowling Tourney

For the third straight year, the Silver Sliders bowling team from Cambridge House of Maryville qualified to compete in the Final Four of the annual statewide Supportive Living Wii Bowling Tournament hosted by the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition (AALC). The team travelled up to Springfield for the Final Four competition, which was held at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center. For the second consecutive year, the team brought home the 4th Place trophy.The Silver Sliders qualified for the 2012 Final Four by finishing in first place in the Blue Division in both the regular season and the playoffs. Team members are Cambridge House of Maryville residents Alla Boyer, Chris Garden, Carol Evans, Sharon Hawkins, Bridgette Watson and Arlene White.Two members of team tossed 300 games during the 2012 season, with Arline White doing it once and Alla Boyer twice.In the semi-finals, the Silver Sliders went up against the Oy Vey team from Heritage Woods of Bolingbrook, which ended up taking second place in the tourney. In the battle for third place, the Silver Sliders lost by seven pins to The Prairie Pins from Prairie Living at Chautauqua in Carbondale. The Silver Sliders of Cambridge House of Maryville was one of the 17 teams from affordable assisted living communities managed by BMA Management to qualify for the playoffs and is one of the three teams from BMA communities that are competing in the Final Four.The Silver Sliders took home the First Place trophy in 2010 and finished in fourth place last year.The AALC is a professional organization that represents affordable assisted living communities throughout the State that operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program.
