Last week, the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living community that Gardant manages in Rockford, Illinois, celebrated its 10th Anniversary.
The community held special parties for residents and their families and for referral sources.
Since opening for occupancy on Oct. 15, 2007, the community has made a difference in the lives of more than 500 older adults who have made Heritage Woods their home and their families, said Yvonne Peterson. All of the 99 apartments were occupied just one month after opening.
Yvonne has served as Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Rockford since we began the pre-sale effort six months before the community opened for occupancy.
She was one of four staff members honored for 10 years of service. Also honored were Angie Juarez, Housekeeping; Crystal Whitely, Dietary Aide; and Randy MacDougall, Maintenance Director.
We are blessed by their dedication and passion.
We thank the entire staff for all that they do each and every day to provide residents with the Love, Compassion and Dignity they deserve in addition to the help, personal assistance and support services that they need to maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.
Among those on hand to congratulate the community were Tiana McCall, Constituent Advocate for Congresswoman Cheri Bustos; Illinois State Senator Steve Stadelman; Illinois State Representative Joe Sosnowski; and Einar Forsman, President and CEO of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce.
Heritage Woods of Rockford is one of more than 150 communities located throughout the state of Illinois that operate through the Illinois Supportive Living Program.
The program serves as an excellent model for affordable assisted living and enables Heritage Woods of Rockford to serve adults 65 and older of virtually all incomes, including those with long-term care insurance and those who are on Medicaid.
The program provides residents with a wonderful residential alternative to a nursing home. It benefits the federal and state governments and us as taxpayers as the cost of a Medicaid resident in a Supportive Living community is significantly less than nursing home care.
Of the 49 communities, Gardant manages in Illinois, 42 operate through the Illinois state’s Supportive Living Program. Click here for a listing of the assisted living, senior living and memory care communities we manage.
